polishing magnaflow exhaust tips
Anyone know of a good polish to use on the magnaflow tips, mine are starting to discolor with road grime, salt residue, etc. I found some polish Borla makes, but its $20 a bottle.
I use "Nevr Dull".
It's a cotton wadding impregnated with a metal polish. Just pull out a little bit and rub your tips. (I didn't mean for that to sound the way it did) After you're done polishing just put the wadding back in the can and it'll renew itself. Wipe off the residue with a good microfiber towel and you're all set!

Walmart carries MAAS jewelry polish, in the cleaners and polishes part of the grocery side, @ ~ $3.50 a tube. Works great on Stainless. The tube should be enough to last a year.
Just don't let the wife see you with it-she'll have you doing the silver!

Working and being around boats most of my life I've spent many an hour polishing , everything from brass lamps to stainless handrail's. This is by far the best product I've used.

I've always thought Never Dull was the cats meow until trying one of these. The packaging looks a bit dated but these cloths last quite a long time. I'd go for the small one and am betting it will out last your car. I bought two of these five years ago using one for the brass and the other for all the stainless on my boat.
Bill,
Bill,
I say take some brasso and a 0000 steel wool and work it in really hard for a full 5 minutes ensuring all the dark soot is removed from the metal. Then use never dull and work that in for another full five minutes. Then, wipe clean with multiple clean cloths. Then use klasse all in one. Finally, take a clean cloth and wipe clean again...you will thank me later.

Meguiar's Hot Rims Mag & Aluminum Polish (damn, I sound like I'm shilling again, sorry)
I use this with a terry cloth towel on the outside of the Magnaflow tips, but for the inside I use the wool pad from our Headlight Restoration Kit, a corded drill, and the same Mag & Alum polish - a few seconds inside the exhaust tip and they're beautiful! Certainly the Mother's Power Ball (damn that thing, it's a great little invention and has made them a truckload of money!!) would be an equally good attachment for doing this, and their Mag & Alum polish is good stuff too.

Brasso works like a dam charm. I had some 3 yr old tips that looked like they were never cleaned and I thought were hopless but with some Brasso a microfiber cloth and a little bit of elbow grease and they looked brand new. Best of all its like 3 or 4 bucks for a can that will last you forever.
