All the Walmarts in the Bay Area don't carry 0W-40 in the biggee size only 1qt.

Mine does not say "Mann" on it - only "Made in Germany 080910".

It has the same coloring as the one pictured in the OP.

The one in the 76 box looks quite different and cheaper - no stringy webbing around the element like this one has.

Did I buy the right Fleece filter? If so, I am going back to get one more - that way, I am done buying Filters for the next two years or so!

Boogers, we only have Pep boys, Kargen and Autozone. I went to all 3 today. Pepboys have the L25276 and the L25277 side by side and the latter was $28.49, the other stores didn't even carry Purolator.

Advance Auto is the store that carries the Purolator L25277 for $11.49. Pep Boys carries the same filter for $28.00.

I already knew there are no Advanced Auto Parts in Kalifornia, but they have the same $11.49 price online, with free shipping if I buy 8. Perhaps I can find another member to split the order with me!

(Not saying it is or isn't; just stating what I see here in SC stores. If it is Mobil 1 in a 5 qt container, consider yourself lucky and I'm jealous!) I've been using Wal-Mart's synthetic in my vehicles for several years and never had any issues. And the last time I researched the source of Wal-Mart's synthetic, Mobil had the contract for Wal-Mart. So Wal-Mart synthetic is a variation of Mobil 1 most likely. Is it exactly the same? Who knows. But if it is, Wal-Mart gets a huge price break.

looks like I will head that way too...and our walmart is hit and miss w/ the 5 gal containers...have to buy when its there ready or not...

The answer to that question is NO. MB oem is fleece but many dealers prices aren't that low so when we find them at a good price, we buy.

I have seen some that have a "EVOTOP" (apparently Evotop is MANN's term for metal-free eco-friendly filters) logo and others that do not. Apparently just when the filters were made (mine were made in Germany but do not say "EVOTOP").

I very much doubt that the filter is a name brand, it does say after market. Still it might be OK in my lawn mower though.
