Default The X Factor!

I've had my resenator deleted for sometime now, and I'm planning to remove my secondary cats and replace them with an X pipe.

From all the readings I've done typically X pipes create more power, do you guys think it will bump up the HP on the SRT? I should still have adament back pressure from the primary cats and the stock muffler.

I know HP wont be much but the reason I'm doing this is because I believe I will be able to get a higher mph on the drag strip, it just feels like the gasses are struggling to get out of the exhaust due to 4 cats.

Any input or ideas would be great!!

Hey John, you might want to pm Steve (32Krazy!). He has Removed the secondary cats, resonator, and installed a magnaflow X pipe. From when I talked to him, I believe that he said that the main difference was that the X pipe smoothed the tone out quite a bit, as the exhaust flowed better. As far as performance goes, I still think that it is going to take installing headers to reap much benefit from the other exhaust mods.

Thanks Bob, I think the way Steve did it was put straight pipes in place of his cats and replaces the H pipe with an X pipe.

I just dont want to loose performance, its just when I'm running the q/mile the sound of it feels like its struggling, I 100% agree about headers but I'm going to wait till someone, somehow makes long tube, I'm sure it will happen just a matter of when!

Any plans of going to the track Bob? get into those elusive 11's!

You know, if you did the X pipe where the rear cats were, and then finished up with a true dual all the way out, I believe you might actually see some fair gains, and it would most likely sound pretty awesome.

Yeah, I have been a bit busy the last few weeks, but I want to get back out in the next couple of weeks. I will let you know how it goes when I do.

what bob said. smooths it out but no real seat of the pants power gains
the problem with longtubes is theres no room to run the tubes on the drivers side. look at the limited space. thats the main reason e/c is using the log style shorties.
the true dual will help you out a bit just run the x were the h pipe was originally.
