Default Installing Gauges, need help!

I have a 2005 crossfire limited coupe. I recently ordered a triple a pillar gauge pod, and 3 gauges. Oil Pressure, Volt, and Water Temp. I have hooked these gauges up on older vehicles, but i do not know alot about the crossfires. I need help with the oil and water ones. Where is the oil sending unit located, and how could i hook it up. And where is it safe to put the aftermarket water temp sensor for the gauge, and help would be appreciated. Pictures would be awsome. Thanks!

make sure your gauge reads high enough, these motors put out over 100psi of oil pressure. honestly not exactly sure where the oil pressure sending unit is, but i believe its built into the front cover, or in the oil pump iirc.

youre going to need to run the one that came with the gauge because the stock one is not going to have the same pressure/voltage values that the gauge is calibrated for and the stock oil pressure sending unit is on a canbus/

water temp, the coolant temp sensor is to the left of the upper radiator hose. but again, youre going to need to use the one that came with the gauge, as the stock one is part of the canbus system and you cannot tap it to read what youre looking for

alright cool, but if i put the aftermarket coolant temp sensor in wont that throw something off? Like the computers degree reading, and maybe not kick the fans on when they should go on?

you wont be able to put it where the stock one is, you'll need to get an adapter for the radiator hose

What about the oil pres. one? Can i just put that where the stock is. And do you have any suggestions on where i could start to look for one of those adapters for the radiator hose?

You'll need to get in touch with member MikeR as he makes a fitting for the front engine cover to convert it to 1/8th" NPT which is what the pressure transducer will 99% probably be. As for water temp, post what make/model gauge you are using as you may be able to use the stock sensor. If that's not the case, and you're handy with a wrench, you can tap and thread the water pump and put the fitting in there providing it's not to big. There is a nice flat little spot on the top of the waterpump that will work perfect for this if the sender is less than 3/4" in diameter and shorter than 1-1/4" after the threads. Most will fit in this area but there are a few that are bigger than that so just giving you a heads up.

Good luck with the setup and I'm anxious to see pictures.

They are Glowshift elite gauges, 60mm. And i am handy with a wrench, but not that handy. I dont think i would tap the waterpump, not that skilled. Could you guys reccomand anything else?

30mm Water temp Gauge Radiator Hose Sensor Adaptor: eBay Motors (item 110516114334 end time Jun-04-10 13:17:20 PDT)

thats simple and quick, you just cut the upper rad hose in two, put that in between. you just need to figure out what diameter you need
