SRT engine into N/A
Hi,
is it possible to do an easy switch? Have an n/a automatic. Possible to buy an engine from the scrapheap and let a mechanic just lift it in? What things are needed to be looked at? Any suggestions on price I should offer him?

Offer him about 16 thousand. That should get you a crossfire with all the performance of an SRT. A little more $ and he'll remove the roof and your car will resemble a roadster.

Hi again,
but honest, is it an easy fit?
I can get the engine for about 30000 SEK which is about $2100.
For an easy exchange, what parts are needed?
The engine have been running for about 900 km ... which is practically nothing.
I am no mechanic so I will myself not be able to do it. Any ideas on what to pay the mechanic to install the engine?

seriously, I think you're in for alot of issues. the tranny probably won't mate up the same, and wouldn't be able to withstand the load in the long run, then there's the rest of the electronics. Man, I think you'd be in over your head quickly on this one, IMO.
You would have to change out the electronics also. The Trans Control Unit, CPU are different and I'm not too sure that an NA TCU would talk to a SRT CPU.
By the time you change everything over and pay the mechanic you would be better off just buying an SRT.

Hi everyone!
I have asked this before but I am in need of doing it again...
I am able to buy an SRT-6 engine for about $4500. Will it fit into an N/A with all technology / ECU/ transmission / and what not..?
What other parts will be needed? It is an engine from a stripped srt6 that got into an accident and they have more parts available..

whats your reason for not just buying an srt6 and saving all the hassle? You wont save any money if thats what you are thinking

And she is a girl!
I'd say if you have access to any and all of the parts from the donor car, go for it!

To answer your question, the cars are the exact same architecture. SRT swap for NA engine, it will all fit.
If your wallet is big enough.

I have à n/a in White. Srt is not available in White, has an ugly wing, ugly alloys, worse interior, ugly front bumper.. The only good is the engine...

or I just may respond with plain old white washed dog taking a crap back end %^$(*, well you get the picture....
Personally, I'm thinking I'd rather go with the engine swap as well. Mainly because of the fact that I have a 6-Speed. Srt's don't have that option. I'd love to have the power of the srt literally at my fingertips.

Ebay has a new engine posted $5K range - must be mercedes as it's marked AMG (not SRT) but it shows up in crossfire search.
I'd still want the complete SRT, larger brakes, suspension, even spoiler as it's a safer package.

Sorry, did not mean to offend anyone by stating my opinion. But that is why I am probably just switching the engine. Mine is automatic today so the transmission will not be a problem. Or? Will it be up to the same amount of pressure?
If to much hustle I will just buy a srt, rip away the wing and change alloys and repaint the car. Cheaper just to mount the new engine for 3000$ ...
it"s wayyyy cheaper to just buy the SRT and repaint it after removing the wing and changing the front bumper cover.
Unless you think it"s easy to reprogram a Mercedes ECU to work with the security system in your car, switch over the brakes, suspension, etc.
It's not just as easy as swapping in a engine and calling it all good.
Why am I even answering this....... use the search feature of the forum.... if you don't have patience enough to research this with a simple search then you DEFINITELY don't have patience enough to start switching engines and ECU's on a Mercedes vehicle.
