Default My fan belt had a baby...

I was going under the car today to do some testing on my starter circuit and noticed what looked like a wire hanging down in the front.... when I grabbed it I knew what it was and said to myself.... what the heck.. one outer rib of my belt was 'trimmed' off and stuck up behind the pulley's...

I pulled the belt and it looks perfectly fine, less the one rib. All the pulley's checked out good and all were tight.... I even thought the WP pulley looked out of round and pulled it and checked and it is good...

So my car is down until I find/order a new Gates K081177....

I purchased mine from Amazon.com - looks like the price has gone up a TAD - but still free shipping...if you can't source it locally.

Amazon.com: Gates K081177 Multi V-Groove Belt: Automotive

I have done lots of pulley swaps and know that the pully alignment is important. I use a straight edge to verify the positioning.

Missing a string is not going to prevent driving the car unless you are racing it. Id be concerned about the strings separation as that is an indication of something going wrong. Woody
