Hey rudy, do you still have that other AMG engine in your garage? Or did someone get it off you?

For anyone interested in getting this V8 conversion done and have questions about emission testing. This is the results from the emissions test that is required in my area.

...But first a little info...

-Originally a '04 3.2L NA engine
-Swaped to a MB 5.5L Kompressor engine
-Rear catalytic converters removed
-Installed a Magnaflow X
-Dual exhaust all the way to the 2 Magnaflow mufflers
-2½" stainless pipe

Here is the results. With personal info removed

It's a good job that the ability to pollute the air with burnt rubber is not on that check list.
Otherwise it would say 'OVER ALL TEST RESULTS: FAIL.'

Actually this is a pretty silly statement. I can afford pretty much anything within my budget, which is pretty good, but it's still a budget. I work for an investment firm and my CEO is worth 800 million and he still asks what things cost, so yeah.

A pretty good budget for some is chump change for others.

Surprisingly alot less rubber than I thought so far... With that said the wavetrac is not installed yet so I have been sparing the tires... Then let the pollution begin and I will be sure to get it on video

First off, it is a common figure of speach, and it speaks more to the point that Rudy is not going to post, "This conversion costs $24,678.58" When there are literally thousands of different variables that go into each car, making each one have different costs. Brian's car, for instance, had a lot of rusted bolts that took extra time and effort to tackle, no way to know unless you dig in.

If you are that interested, I would contact accelerated and get a quote, if it fits into your budget, I will be jealous....

Thumbs up Re: I'm building another one... Supercharged V8 Part Deux!!! :D

Only proper way to show your dedication for performance through a mechanical engineering perspective is to put your very own stamped bar underneath AMG's signature with your own!

Keep making monsters..

To gain some more rubber on the ground to accomadate the already dangerous car. Thanks guys... and keep up the good work. also would a 2000 s-500 v8 work for a conversion??? (sceptical)
The S500 engine would work great. The nice thing about the early S and CL engines is that the wiring harness is long enough to reach the ECU location in the Crossfire and the oil pan is correct. I have a 2002 CL500 engine in my car. But Like Rudy said, starting off the key with a non 55K engine/ECU has not been figured out. I have to use a starter button and have been doing so for almost two years. Not a big deal but since it doesn't start on the first crank, I would love to see this figured out in the future.
