Sorry If this has been mentioned I haven't gone through the whole thread but anyone considering doing a swap why don't you consider the 6.3AMG V8? I went for a ride in a 2009 C63 AMG and man oh man does that thing go...that engine plus a supercharger and a crossfire will be looking to equal the score with a buggatti or 2 lol

to my knowledge, no one has put FI on the 6.3 V8 yet...
...but the 6.3 alone would be a gross motor to put in. Then again I like Rudy's idea of the 6.0 V12TT going in, that will whomp just about anything. Heh.
Isn't the 6.3 AMG a v-12, or do they make a v-8 version? The v-12 in twin turbo form makes 661 hp stock. May be very expensive. Will this one fit Rudy?

Those are two different engines. The 6.3L found in the C/SL/S/CL/CLK 63 is a V8. The V12TT is found in the 65 series AMG lines (S/SL/C/CL) and is a 6.0l V12 biturbo. Two different engines.

No problem. Also forgot to say that a de-tuned version of the 6.0 V12TT can be found in the 600 series MBs...
Enough of the "cost/pricing" questions. Give us an update on whats being done to Rudy's... I mean the mystery car. Is it done? Have you even started tearing it apart?

Sorry I haven't posted any updates lately. I'm actually out in Maryland right now working on a CLS500 -> CLS55 conversion. Car is running and now we're just working on some little stuff getting it all put back together. These cars are not as small as the Crossfire but still go like hell when you stand on it. I'll be back to work on the Crossfire when I get home Monday. BTW, are all of you really that curious if this is my car getting the new engine? I thought a little mystery would be a good thing but I guess I might as well remove all doubt... When I done with it. LOL

We'll have more pictures later this week. While Rudy is out on this CLS55 conversion number two is getting some "love" cleaning things up and making it ready for the engine to be dropped in while we're waiting on parts coming back from coating.
Not only is number two going to be a beast but she's gonna be eye candy as well
