Default RPM Help

Hey guys,

I have a 2005 Crossfire with 85K miles on it. I just had the mass air flow AND the gas pump replaced. Problem is the same issue continues. As soon as I turn the car on she automatically jumps to 1 1/2 RMP and I wait 5 minutes and its still on 1 RMP like the car wants to go somewhere. Im tired of going to the same shop charging to check out whats wrong and not fixing the problem. It seems like it kinda shakes a little when its "warming up" anyone else experience this issue? It was fine until this morning I have no clue what it can be....Thanks in advance!

Try resetting the ECU by unhooking the negative battery terminal for 20 minutes.

Maybe it time to clean your throttle body. The best way to do it is to remove them and use carb cleaner. Go get a new Throttle body gasket at the same time (±10$).

Could be a vacume leak also.

So what's actually wrong with your car?
Most cars, when cold, will rev higher while warming up.
Sitting there idling doesn't warm them up very fast, you have to drive the car to fully warm it up.

When you drive the car, does the rpms drop down to the 700 rpm range when you come to a stop after the car is fully warmed up?

BC.
