Default P0160 Error Code

Team of Xfire enthusiasts,

I am driving home from the airport and on pops the check engine light. I ran my obdII on it and picked up the following code:
P0160 O2 Sensor Circuit No Activity Detected (Bank 2 Sensor 2)

Has anyone had this before and any suggestions on diagnosing?

I would prefer to find the answer as opposed to going to the stealer.

BTW my roadster has only 27k and is an 07.

Thanks,

Nate

My guess is the sensor is shot or the wire is loose.
Look in the Repair Manual.

Yeah but which sensor?

Is the Bank 2 an oxygen sensor or something else?

Anyone else seen this problem?

It was not on when I went for a run the other day but after a little accelerating fun it popped back on.

Before I go chasing my tail on this, but I want to know if anyone has guidance for me before I end up getting taken by the stealer..

Thanks,

Nathan

Driver's side (bank2) post cat (sensor2) O2 sensor is most likely fried or unplugged.

Thanks is this a common issue for our cars?

Do you recommend getting this done by the stealer or is it an easy enough job for a pretty good wrench?

Thnx

You catch on quick, I told you a week ago.
Not a common issue, but you will have to get under it to do the job.

Update, the code that I had was a P0161 error code and not P0160.

Either way I disconnected both sensors (one at a time) to see what error code would show and I received a clear 02 sensor code for bank1 reconnected and then received one for bank2. After plugging them back in my P0161 error code disappeared. However only for a short while 15 miles or so and the P0161 came back for bank 2.

Is this a clear indication that my o2 sensor is no longer functioning correctly and I should replace it?

Thanks,

Nate

It seems I looked for a diagram of sensor/bank positions of the four 02 sensors some time ago and came up empty handed. Is there a chart or diagram in the service manual to show the positions? Where? Just curious for when the day comes...

OK guys I managed to find this:

But it doesn't make it clear what the post cats (downstream) are labeled?

Most GM & Ford manuals I dealt with always have diagram with labels of the sensor positions. The 'bank' is referring to the way it is hooked into the computer, not the position it is on the exhaust/motor. I have seen all different positions of these sensors over the years. I hate guessing.

Bank 1 has cylinder number one on the same side, generally.
I know, the question is which one is cylinder one, passenger side front.
I got that from this site.

OBD-II Trouble Code: P0174 System Too Lean (Bank 2)
And unless I am mistaken the Bosch sensors for the applicable banks are as follows:

Bank 1 - Bosch Sensor Model 16276
Bank 2 - Bosch Sensor Model 16123

Let me know if I am missing anythings Xfire team.
