Engine change
Anyone got any views on the main technical hurdles in fitting Crossfire SRT engine into standard Crossfire?
Thinking about......
Engine bay wiring harness
Extra engine ancillary equipment
Engine management system ECU
Any difference in gearbox/rear diff/final drive ratios
Exhaust system differences

You are probably aware of :

Seems to me to be a much more cost effective means to achieving the desired performance gains you desire, unless you already have the SRT-6 engine in hand .......
just saying
( I too would love to have this upgrade, but I can't justify the proposed price of $3500, since I don't race the car, and the current performance level of my N/A Roadster is already enough for me )

You'll need to bring the SRT-6 Kompressor ECU with, and probably the paired keys unless you want to do some reprogramming shenanigans.
If you have a 6-speed, it's probably not worth it as you'll either have to fabricate a nonexistant adapter or get a different crankshaft to mate the transmission, and nobody's gotten the ECU to cooperate as far as I know. Search the forum for posts by HDDP and you'll find a description of how it's done with a custom third-party ECU (and a lot of money).
The rear end on the Limited differs from that on the SRT so if you'd like the same gearing, bring the rear diff along as well.
The SRT also has different shocks, springs, and brakes if you're going for the full SRT build.
"CrossfireKat" put an SRT-6 engine in a limited with the minimal swap (ECU, engine) and it supposedly works, so it's definitely a possibility. But then you have an SRT-6 without good brakes or shocks, stiff springs, or the slightly higher rear end.
In short: you might as well buy an SRT-6.

But how long will this take be available is the big question.
$3500 plus shipping to uk is expensive.
I have an engine and all other parts needed available if I want to go for the full conversion and would be less cost - but still researching the viability.
Contact Rudy Compart screen name RCOMPART or Speedriven. Rudy has led the charge with doing the SL 55AMG engine conversions and last year was offering an NA to SRT6 swap with engine for around 10k. He would be able to provide you some information on the swap.
the second all the computer work becomes an issue im thinking sti boxster engine swap .should be able to get the parts for what the turbo costs.the engine has lower center of gravity and much more power.im swapping a chevy 350 into my x fire.allreddy built the engine and matted it to a 5 speed manual ,the car is now 700 lbs lighter .should be done by april 2012 will def post more than a couple pics, think the chevy 350 plays into the retro look of the car.love that retro car look just detest the ltd power and growl and refuse to pay 2200 for headers and 1300 for intake manifolds that leak.trying to upgrade the stock x fire with more than intake and tune is flat ridiculus.guess a turbo is the only avenue.hit me back
