Default HI Oil Warning Question

I searched past threads about this warning but did not see my circumstances.

I had the oil changed about three months ago on my 2004 and was told they used Mobile 0-40 oil. Today I got the first HI oil level warning. Any idea what is causing it to suddenly appear without having a recent oil change?
Thanks

Use the dip stick and check oil level and appearance. If normal warning system problem If actually high might be water from head gasket leak.

Based on the dip stick, the level is way high, but oil looks normal, Hard to tell.

If you have access to a Topsider you can suck out some of the oil...... but the fact that it has been 3 months since an oil change and the Hi warning and increased oil level would indicate that something else has changed....

You could drain the oil into a pan and see if there is anything in it that you cant see on the dipstick....

Did you ever get this figured out? I'm experiencing the same thing. Got oil changed about a month ago and now I'm getting the HI oil warning and it looks high on the dipstick.
