I have bought parts from these guys (German Potamac, part of the LKQ network) and have been happy with the parts and their communication.

Pat (at x206) has always been helpful

I have also seen them advertise the SL55 intake set up for as little as $100 ...

Is the 74mm TB + MAF worth installing? I have a 100% N/A stock Crossfire and I was wondering if this is worth investing in. What kind of gains will I get from this upgrade? Will I even notice a difference?

Probably not but with a better CAI and a tune you will.

Since you are the TB knowledge king, I need to ask, is this truly plug and play? I know of them had to switch electronics and some were having issues. At this price, I am all over this combo, if it is not a huge PITA, I already have enough of those projects

Thanks Dave.

Thanks Dave.
As long as the sensor from the OEM 68 mm MAF housing is switched over to the larger 74 mm MAF housing it is plug and play.

Mine never even coughed with the switch over. Some say they kept the larger MAF sensor in place and it adapted after spluttering for a while.

I did the maths and the old sensor in the new MAF is better when you compare the air volume, the square area of the larger MAF and hence the air flow required in the 6 and the V8. The V8 requires so much more air the 74 mm sensor would not see any where near the same conditions staying in the 74 mm housing.

To switch the sensor is a bit of a pain, as it was a five point tamper proof Torx screw. I used a tamper proof flat head bit and Beaner used a plain flat head bit. It chops up the socket a but but they are not to tight.

Since you're going to have everything apart, gut the elbow and add 5 additional ponies, ON TOP of the gains noticed by the MAF/TB. Most people clip the slats out, and dremel the remnants smooth with the walls of the elbow.

Doing that will give you an unobstructed 3" path from filter inlet to intake mani... Should give you lots of good midrange.

John, that is EXACTLY what I was going to do, as I have been putting this off because of the weather.

Need to schedule a day at the friends shop for an inside hand wash and some TB work

Got my MAF and 74mm TB from Potomac today. UPS delivered it right to my door about 30 seconds before I was gettin ready to hit the road. Time from ebay purchase to my front door was one week, not bad, kudos to Potomac. Now if only I had some Torx tools... lol

Here as a combo:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/CROSSFIRE-3-...64988480956940

However, it would be best if you called them and bargain the price down. This combo was recently offered for $125

The DCAI is overkill and a waste of money in my opinion.
But it's your money.

New TB and MAF went in this weekend.

I dsconnected the negative terminal during install to give it a throttle reset, then after installing, I let the car run for a few minutes, but it never had any issues, sounding normal even from the first startup post swap. Did another throttle reset with the key just to make sure and then drove her on a test drive. I am not sure if the computer still needs to adjust or what, but I have not seen any increases yet, and if anything, less power than before. With the dense, cool air, this thing should be strong. Hopefully it adjusts, I will let you all know.

I am also running a DIY DCAI and tune as well.

Did you change the MAF sensor?

Yes, definitely followed you advice, Dave, and swapped out the sensor.

Even still today, it was not acting quite the way I like so I changed my sprint booster from green 'mid-level' setting to red for full-on and it reacted nicely.

Not 100% on this mod yet.
