SL-55 Nightmare... Install pointers??
For starters, the mounting tabs are a PITA... But that's a minor issue.
When you get the Y-pipe mated to the boxes, the inlet (to the supercharger) is at the wrong angle... Rubber opening is at a -45° and the s/c inlet is at a -70°. So, I worked backwards and secured the y-pipe to the s/c inlet, and THEN attempted to attach the boxes to the Y-pipe. The hoses and airbox exits are ovals, so it only works at one angle. Once the boxes were mated to the Y-pipe, I went to secure the boxes to the motor mounts and *POP* the inlet snaps off again because you have to bend the Y-pipe, putting pressure on it.
What's worse, is the worm-clamp won't tighten past a certain point, else it simply snaps and you lose all tension. Basically, you can mount the Y-pipe to the inlet, or the Y-pipe to the boxes, but not both. And I don't have the warm-fuzzies about going down the interstate and having the Y-pipe fall off, allowing the s/c to ingest unfiltered air.
The poor clip fitment is the least of my worries... the Y-pipe is my biggest concern.
So, gurus, where am I screwing up? SL55 veterans welcomed...

Re: SL-55 Nightmare... Install pointers??
Mine came complete with the OEM SS clamps around the ovals and they stay intact. Unless yours has custom made fasteners for mounting to the motor mounts, do not try to get them to line up. Just place them parallel to the manifolds and use black heavy duty zip ties to fasten each airbox to the mounts or to the slots on the manifolds. Let me know if I've confused you as I could take some pics and email them.

On your other point (in my facebook post): The SLK55 boxes won't work at all, there's no space for the blower.
