Where to get bigger Injectors?
Hi all.
I read through many old threads but wasn't able to find any current information on where I can get a hold of some larger injectors for my NA.
Or is it even worth it in most cases?
I currently have a Intake, Exhaust and Eurocharged tune. I'm looking to get a 74mm throttle body and big injectors, then get a re-tune.
Where can I still find these now that TVT is gone?

When I had my N/A, I was determined I needed bigger injectors. But after seeing many people install larger ones and struggle with them, PLUS my 45 minute conversation with Rob from Needswings last year, I've conluded they're completely unnecessary. Tuning the car to like them at both idle and WOT proves to be the nightmare.
Honestly, you don't even need them on the SRT until you start throwing huge pulleys and tons of air...
In short, save your money.

Anytime.
74mm TB is a great mod... So is the bigger MAF, but whatever you do, reuse the OEM MAF sensor... install it in the bigger housing. Also, the 90° elbow has baffles that can be removed.
If you have the Needswings CAI, ignore my last sentence.

IIRC the NW CAI for the n/a motors replaces the full elbow up to the throttle body, and the MAF sensor plugs into the intake tube. This negates the need for a 74mm MAF as the NW CAI is already 3" (76.2mm-od) and since the 90° elbow is replaced with silicon, the baffles are by default "removed".
Im not sure you would even need them then unless your running A Lotttt of boost or nitrous.....
I have to differ on this one. I installed the larger injectors. It took a while for the car to like them but once it settle down I had a measurable mpg increase. Could I have had a bad stock injector? IDK but glad I changed them.
im glad you saw a measureable amount in gas mileage improvement some people have reported that 2-3 miles a gallon improvement i think it's just too much of a headache cause of how each car seems to be erratic until it settles down after the bigger injector upgrade but most people want to add them for performance gains and it isnt gonna happen unless you have a bad injector or two on a n/a or like i said adding more forced induction or nos...
you didnt get a mpg inc. your ecu is being fooled into thinking it is. do the research. unless your larger injectors were scaled to the 3.2 engine theres a good chance your actually washing down your cylinders with the excess fuel and potentially hurting your engine down the road.
amx the e55 injectors are the same size as the srt 480 cc . if you feel the need for larger injectors contact bruce at TUNING TECHNOLOGY MOTORSPORTS and order his fuel rail and 550 cc injectors

I don;t need them well at least not at this time.
That makes sense. In terms of the 55k motor you aren't really modified to the point where others are seeing a need for more injector.
Correct, as long as you plan on running the Needswings CAI.
the modded e55 engines that had the biggest issues were close to 500 rwhp and the # 8 cylinder was the lean cylinder to blow. the looped fuel rail and 550 cc injectors cured the issues. its the safest mod you can do to a modded engine
In your opinion, at what point is the looped rail necessary on the SRT motor? Stacked pulleys? Manis? A specific PSI of boost? Or is this simply a good "insurance" mod at any level of tuning?
Cheers,
I know we've discussed this in person, but I wanted to ask this so someone else can see the answer if they were to ever search for it.

john the looped rail is safe insurance for any engine from mild to wild. the injectors can be reserved for the modded guys but they also flow more effiecently than the oem due to pencil point rather than wide spray pattern. i spoke to bruce before and he seemed open to a group buy for both or either if there was enough interest. as this is tested (on my car for over 6 months and the v8 cars for over a yr) and on more than 4 cars (v6) at this point its simple manufacturing lead times for him
Also, if I recall, you dropped almost 2 points (AFR) just with the addition of the loop, correct? Or was that the loop plus injectors?
