Perhaps a black metal mesh surround to fit? And fill the gaps on either side?

I meant placing the mesh only in the spaces to either side of the exhaust outlet-not in the areas outside.

I would also paint the end of the muffler box (body cylinder) with flat black, high-temperature paint to hide it? Otherwise, it might show through the mesh and look odd.

It sounds OK to me but I don't like the rattling and it's not my style at all, I'm more subtle .... old? Too jet ski for me. I'm with Max on hiding it as much as possible if you keep it. I ask my self, self, what other cars use this style? Do I want to look like "them"?

In all honesty, I'd take it off and sell it to one of your friends that love it so much. My other suggestion would be to put it in a big vise and make it an oval.

The OBX suggested is not very loud at all. Pleasant deep tone. I wouldn't think any police would object.
