Magnaflow Cat-Back (Part 16633)
Simple bolt on design with no welding or cutting pipes.
Installs easily using the OEM hangers already on you car
Sounds awesome as many here already know.
How does the sound compare to the muffler from MaxiPerformance @
?

I love the sound but I got a quote from the and it's over $500 (including shipping cost).

I'm getting a small amount of drone with my new set up. It seems to have gotten quieter as time passes but 70-80 with cruise control on, just a little hum.

Im thinking it will get louder though when I do needs wings intake.

For the Money, I like what I did to my XFire! If i had the cash, I would have done OBX.

Valky, it sounds sweet. It's be nice if I can hear it at a constant speed on the highway.

Thanks FP
Once it is dry out again take a ride to the house and we'll take mine out for a run so you can hear it for yourself

Here is my new favorite muffler. This looks like the magna flow set up for much less. Take this to a muffler shop and save $.

I just installed the Magnaflow 16633 cat-back exhaust on my '05 NA Limited Roadster. The install was a pain in the *** with the sub-frame support that had to be removed and the rear hangers, but overall not terrible. The drone, however, is none too welcome. If I'm cruising in 6th gear and hit a slight incline and give it just a little gas, the whole damn car seems to rattle with drone. Additionally, I get some actual vibration / rattle from the rear, I'm guessing it's contact vibration from the exhaust pipe and the sub-frame support that the roadster has.

I'm in the process of searching the forum for some solutions. Looks like I'll be taking the Crossfire to a local custom exhaust shop to see what they have to say. That, and some dynamat may knock it down. Otherwise, I'm very happy with the sound and look.

Kevin, I had a shop install mine when I had my roadster. It seemed to be a pretty straight forward installation, but he did make a small modification to the hanger so it would hang just right. The drone however is still a concern of mine, and why I haven'nt installed a MF system on my coupe.

I'm guessing that would help with leveling the tips, and could also suck the pipe in a little so it doesn't rattle against that cross-brace. I plan to go by an exhaust shop this Friday to see if they'll go for a ride with me, listen to the drone and vibration, and see what they can do to fix it. I also shot an email to Magnaflow describing my issues in case they have some recommendation.

I had no vibration. If they can figure out the drone, please let us know.

Short story from the exhaust shop - nothing you can do but put a resonator in or try various other things, all of which would reduce the gains from the Magnaflow. We didn't get into discussions on removing the cats / X-pipes.

Talked to someone at a car audio shop about dynamat / some similar option - it may help with the drone, but it would take a lot of it.

No response from Magnaflow - not surprisingly.

Looks like those of us with the drone are stuck with it.

I just installed my Magnaflo....no drone issues and sounds really good. It just a tight clearance on the rear brace. I may need to have the hangers in the rear adjusted.
