Default check engine light

used my scanner and came up with this code p0128 01/02
and the same again p0128 02/02
which is coolant temperature is below thermostat regulating temp
gage on dash has the needle in the middle where it always is.
overflow tank is hot to touch.
HELP!!!!!
and thanks

(P0128) FORCED LIMITED POWER EXCESSIVE HIGH COOLANT TEMP (CONTINUED)
When Monitored and Set Condition
² When Monitored: With the ignition on engine running.
² Set Condition: The Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor exceeds 130°C (265°F) at the PCM. One trip
Fault
I would first make sure coolant level is proper, then suspect the ECT sensor. ( 265F is pretty darn HOT ! )
I have an UltraGuage and have never seen mine above 206F even in summer with A/C on.

thanks ala_xfire.
overflow tank is up like suppose to be.
it does get hot.
even checked oil and it is great, looks new.
never have had a problem running too cold.
this is "sunny" california, but it has been down to the low 30's.
thanks

I suspect the coolant temp sensor first, then the thermostat, probably sensor though
