Time for the first oil change. The mfg. manuel suggests 10W 40. What have you guys been using? Thanks.

 

The manual requires 0W 40 Mobil 1 synthetic. That's ZERO W 40 not 10W 40.

The Daimler Chrysler equivalent oil is Mobil 1 synthetic. Don't even think about saving money on the oil by substitution. Find Mobil 1 synthetic as cheap as possible sure, but don't go cheap and substitute on this.

Thanks for the info. Just wanted to make sure I used the right product. I use Mobil 1 in the other vehicles so I will not be a tightwad with the xfire.

 

also note if youve been looking at the owners manual, dont go by the oil capacity spec. its 8.5 qts, not 6.1qts like mine and a bunch of other manuals originally stated. im not sure if chrysler has fixed the problem for new models or not.

 

My 2005 manual states it as 8.5 quarts
