Installing Turbo on N/A, help!
Howdy everyone!
This is my first post so, try to go easy on a newb.
Anyways, come tax time, i was possibly planning on turbo-charging my n/a (auto) Xfire.
I was curious if anyone has done this before and could give me a how-to.
Such as; all the necessary mods to make this possible, what turbo to use, ect..
I'm not looking for massive hp gains. Just seeing what might be possible.

I'm in line to be the second prototype for the system currently being developed.. I could sell you my spot as funds have become limited.. Send me a PM.. and click the red turbo link in my signature.. $150 and it's all yours to be the second one!
EDIT:
Did thoroughly search this time. It appears as if NO ONE has ever successfully done this. Looks like i'm on my own lol

Someone here has turboed an SRT6 with mixed results. No one here has done the NA.
Good luck charging this windmill Sr Quixote. You quest is noble. And yes, as far as we know, if you succeed, you will be the first
I'm getting another XF, but a 6 speed this time. I plan on boost of some sort. Not sure what the hold up has been with BEGI other than a scam, guys have been boosting NA SLK320's. Surely Eurotune or Kleeman has a way to open the ECU for reprograming the fuel maps? Kleeman's KD box should allow for tuning to mild boost with out a huge headache.
The only thing preventing boost is the ECU, if I have to, I'll go stand alone. I run a stand alone on my Porsche. Apexi makes a system that will piggy back with the M112 engine.

So just curious, what is the problem with using a stand alone system? Will we still have turn key use and will all the safety features still work (ABS, TCS, ect?)
Biggest being, that you can't smog if need be. Then it comes down to preference on optimum engine control… Do you want a company that builds universal ECU's to power your engine, or the company that invested millions into your exact engine…
You will lose the phase-shift twin spark… Genius IMHO
You will lose the BAS, and ESP. You will have traction, but it's different based on the company you go with, Haltech, bosch etc.
You will lose the variable tract intake manifold valve system (performance)
Then the biggie… Once you replace your ECU, your entire car's network will not function. No BCM, DAS module (+immobilizer), Pulse module, relay module, instrument cluster, nothing…
You will spend more money than the car is worth just in tuning if you go to a professional as well since there is no legit base map.
Oh oh, and the kit's are like 3500+ and you have to custom wire the entire harness lol. Seriously. This was almost where NA V8 6-speeds were going to go.
But hey, at least it would be able to be tuned :roll eyes:
Re-read my post above and if you're thinking of a turbo just hold off… At least until March

So probably another stupid or annoying question. How would a piggy back system fair in our cars? Similar issues? Smog isn't an issue to me but obviously I need to know how fast I'm going lol
It depends. There are quite a few drawbacks in my mind.

I am somewhat bias though, because it's not hard for me to do. I already started my 6-speed with a 32 AMG ECU... Getting the other end of the phone to is the hard part if they don't have DAS.
