gasoline will not harm the can internally, I would use mineral spirits myself though


Thanks for chiming in. Any idea of why mine is the tan gook and most others are getting a dark fluid?
Could it be from only driving occasionally and usually short trips leading to more condensation?


BTW it was separated in the can. When I emptied it the gook was plugging up the drain. I had to stick a screw driver in and then the water came out.

it probably has to do with the distance driven, mine always drained the tan color in my srt6, c32 and 2x ml320's (same motor as the na crossfire)

I double checked it is installed correctly. The hoses are clear with only a slight residue. I cleaned out the can with gas and a lot more of the tan residue came out but was much darker. From the can walls no doubt.
