Default Cooling system fan question

Ok my air doesn't work chasing down problems. With the engine off, the ignition on, I turn air on, radiator fan turns on low runs for about ten seconds, then shuts off. Should the fan stay on at a low speed, at least I think it should.

Goes on and off. Does the blower on the AC work?

The inside blower motor works fine, the problem is the ac clutch is not working, not getting power. I have replaced the FCM and the pressure switch, checked the pressure. I am thinking that the radiator fan should run continues on low once the ac button is pushed. I don't know because I bought the car in its current state.

I just checked my car, I turned the key on, did not start the car and pressed the AC button, radiator fan did not turn. I started the car with AC on and radiator fan operated. I turned the AC off and radiator fan turned off. Hope this helps.

I'm interested in finding the cause of your problem as my 300 has the same problem.
The 300 set a fault code, no red CEL though. The code is P0645 - AC clutch fault.

Has yours set any fault codes?

Bill that helps, because mine, if I turn the ignition on, then hit the ac button the blower fan operates at whatever speed it is set at, and wait a few seconds, the radiator fan comes on slow about 10 sec, the shuts off. After twenty seconds comes back on for 10 seconds, and repeats this cycle.

If I was you I would put a voltage meter on the fan plug and see if the voltage is fluctuating. At least that should tell you which side of the plug has the fault.

180, I will check, it had all kinds of codes, when I picked it up. The car belonged to a guy that lived in El Dorado hills ca, he died it sat for two years, then his Son in Madera got it, nothing worked on it acc wise. When I got it, I pulled the fuses put new ones in it and the seats worked, windows worked everything but the air.

I replaced the FCM, the ac pressure switch, did the TPMS fix, the sticky ignition fix, pulled the in cabin filter, put the LED license plate lights although the driver side don't work I got power, but no ground, I am considering taping that brown wire and grounding it.

Is that with the engine running and has heated up? Are you getting any cold air from the AC? It sat for 2 years, maybe it needs charged up?

Engine not running, the system is charged. My fan only seems to have one speed. No cold air compressor not engaging.

So what happens when the engine is running?

Fan comes on at 200 degrees, no ac. If I push the ac button and the engine is hot I get hot air. 180 no codes showing.

I replaced the ac controls, now I have power to the ac compressor, but the clutch does not engage. The radiator fan runs constant when the ac button is pushed. Still no driver side led license plate light, got power but no ground.

I'm sorry but I gave up on this thread when the story developed in to two separate threads and now we have mention of another problem, the LED's which has its own thread already, this will only complicate the thread.

You say you have power at the AC unit, is that at the plug at the AC or the relay. As I mentioned before I had the same problem, but I have solved that problem by selling the car. The clutch should be able to be removed, but probably only when off the car.

At first I did not have power to the to the AC clutch but now I have Power to the AC clutch after replacing the AC controls in the dash. I realize that there were three threads. I am sorry about that, but the second thread got a lot more response. I am quiet sure that if I can replace the AC clutch I will finally got it all fixed. The AC controls in the dash were bad, as no power was going to the compressor. Now after replacing them I got power, but the clutch is not engaging, compressor my have to be replaced as well, if I can't just get the clutch. Love the car.

Update, last night I installed a new compressor, evac system, and charged, now enjoying Air condition for the first time in this car. The dash controls were bad, as well as the ac, compressor. Thanks for all the ideas in chasing this down.
