Damnit! Flywheel recommendations?
Damnit! Flywheel recommendations?
Having my clutch swapped out due to a bad throwout bearing. My mechanic says the dual mass flywheel is loose and may not last much longer.
Amy recommendations for a replacement? Stock is over a grand and rockauto has one for about $450, but shipping is $100 from Europe.

The crossfire's stock dual mass is the beefiest flywheel Mercedes has offered. Without serious modification there is no replacement.
Contact Rudy about the one he made for the Crossfire's. I know he's either done or close, but no clue on cost, or specs.
Re: Damnit! Flywheel recommendations?
That's what I've read, and seen members with over 200K miles on the stock flywheel. I'm hoping the shop is wrong.
Re: Damnit! Flywheel recommendations?
I've heard of people half of a million + without ever even needing to consider the flywheel. I posted last year or so of a guy that made it 262,000 miles on the stock clutch and come to find out the pressure plate and slave cylinder were good, the disk was just worn to $h**.

They're saying the flywheel will destroy the tranny, I haven't noticed any extra play in the clutch engagement.
Thanks for the advice!
Re: Damnit! Flywheel recommendations?
Geez, that's crazy man. If I had a spare crossfire flywheel I'd totally sell it on the cheap man.
