Default vacuum tap point for gauge, n/a

Hey everyone! I'm planning on putting in a vacuum gauge im my n/a 05 coupe this week but I do not know which hose to tap into.. Has anyone done this or does anyone know what vacuum line would be best? Any info would be a great help! If anyone has pictures or a drigram or a write up or a link or anything that would be a huge help!

I'm sure you have your reasons for wanting a full time gauge ... you could always use a blue tooth OBDII adapter and Torque Pro to monitor vacuum ..

I have one of those but it eats thru my battery. I already have a volt gauge and I like the gauge look. I can't fine a vacuum line digram or anything 😔

I know you can get vacuum from the line that runs across to the driver side fender well and connects to the evaporator purge solenoid mounted there. ( it's the hard plastic line that has a rubber end on it at the solenoid. )

( I know this, because I have left it disconnected by mistake before, and the engine is NOT happy. )

I had a vacuum leak when I changed the throttle body haha its no fun! Any chance you have a picture? I'm at work and will most likely look for it on break
I also read something about a "small hose from the valve cover vent caps"?

Yes, those 2 hoses connect to the same vacuum source as the solenoid I mentioned, just after the throttle body.

I have the oil catch can installed, so the 2 small vc hoses got to it first, then it connects back to the vacuum source.
( you can click the above picture, then click ENLARGE )

Are those hoses the double ones that you have to remove to change the TB? The one that plugs into the top of the throttle body and the engine?

They don't plug into the TB, but just in front of it's mount.

Hey guys just an update! The hard plastic line with the rubber end, by the solenoid, worked!! The plastic hose just pulled right out and I put the t off right in the middle! Then I put some hose clamps to keep it in place and its works great! Thank you!

my torque program gives me a vac reading without an intrusive hose.

15 buck for the dongle, and $5 for torque!
