Buying Chrysler engine parts
Looking for new gaskets for my rocker cover while I'm in there I'm wanting to pick up a few bits, just wanted a heads up that buying parts straight from Mercedes is all good as I'm gonna be doing a full service and engine detailing as I go through.
Another place you might want to look into is ,Needswings.com . Lots of good stuff! Don't forget to change out your valve cover bolts, an torque to spec.
And yes, comparing stealerships, buying Mercedes over Chrysler will save you, on average, 45%. If you just have to buy from" them".

Cheers, yea I downloaded the service manual but could find what part it was under giving the torque specs for the cover.
Where abouts in the service manual can I find specs on torque of the engine compartments cheers
It's in the description of the teardown and re-assembly. But 10 foot pounds on the valve cover bolts and 7 foot pounds on the breather bolts (that hold the breather covers to the valve covers) is right.
The gaskets seldom leak or fail, the leaks come from the RTV-stuff between the breather and valve covers. Even tho, it is a GOOD idea, IMO, to go all the way and change the gaskets as well. I prefer to take the vavle covers/breathers off as one assembly and separate them once they are off the engine, then clean mating surfaces really well before you reseal the breathers to the valve covers.

In the 04 manual, reference section 9 ,pg 617. Also I gave you some bad information. It seems the valve cover should be torqued to 7ft. lbs. Not 10.
No worries mate thanks for the info, maybe I should purchase the book service manual as I've got the pdf file for the computer. Again thanks for everything 👍
