Oil leak /what is this part?!?
Hey guys.. I'm a bit stumped. I got under my xfire to inspect the driver's side exhaust/catalytic converter because of a P2098 code (a whole other topic..) anyways I found that I have a leak on the lower end of the passenger side of the engine. It's not a horrible leak but it's pretty fresh looking. Anyways there's a line that runs through the area where the leak seems to be coming from and there's a connector that is disintegrated. I have no idea what this line is. I'm now thinking that it might be a coolant line of some sort?? Anyways.. I'm clueless to what it is so I can't even research how to repair it. Here's a little video... Hopefully one of you can identify this line/part for me.
Jane with no name, your leak is most likely the transmission electrical connector. I think what you are seeing is just that being blown around. Take a good look at it, front passenger side of the transmission.
Cheap fix, about $12 - $15 for a new connector body with O rings.

Thanks for the swift response! I've seen that in other threads before... I think the shock of this rubber piece falling apart is just fogging my mind! I'll definitely take another look when the sun is back to light my way.
That rubber piece is just that, a shock mount for the transmission cooling line.
It wasn't built to be soaked in fluid all the time, it just gave up the fight.

Thanks guys!! You've helped me to rest easy tonight! I cannot find a mechanic who will touch my car in my area. Even a German auto shop called auto werks refused to touch it because it has a Mercedes motor (and all I was asking them to do was use their transmission dipstick to check the level.) It's great that you've taken time to respond. Much love and good vibes are being sent your way!
Now wish me luck on this post catalytic O2 code reading lean on bank 2. I'm thinking I may have a bad Cat.
