get the complete belt kit :

As to the alternator, if yu have a Valeo, get a Valeo.
If you have a Bosch, get a Bosch.

Ala_xfire
Thanks for the speedy reply
I was planning on the belt but did not know about a "kit"
Value your input so will go with the full kit
Thanks
Noticed that there are two different units
Oreily's here has either one at $190.00
Thanks again

I think I paid $120 for the belt tensioner alone, back when my Graphite started making funny noises.

Guess so with no visible labels, not that hard to do if you remove the fan shroud first.
Don't forget to disconnect the negative battery cable before you start, wouldn't want that big positive alternator cable end coming in contact with the frame anywhere - can you say Crossfire flambeau ?

Bosch and Valeo make replacement alternators for each others alternator, so the correct Valeo will replace a Bosch alternator and vice versa. There is a list somewhere here with the part numbers. The cable attachment pattern will indicate the OEM maker. Generally Bosch supplied the NA alternators and Valeo the SRT alternators but that is not always the case. Confusion reigns.

You may have to pry on the bolt sleeves a bit to get the unit to drop from the mounts.
Next step is to kinda rotate it around so you can remove the bolt-on wire and the plug-in harness.
Then you just fiddle with it until it comes out.

To loosen the sleeves which are pushed against the alternator you use a soft mallet or lever and move the alternator back and forth loosening the clamping sleeves. The sleeves which are around each of the bolts are pulled by the bolts forward pushing the alternator into position against the fixed forward stop.
That's how I remember it is done.
Naturally I may be a little wrong but that is the basis of the clamping arrangement.

Finally out.
Sure not like the good old 60's when everything was upfront and easy to get at.
Still love the car.
Ordered a direct replacement from DB Electric.
Take a day longer to get here than AutoZone or Oreily but $100.00 cheaper
Same warranty and all.
So now wait
Thanks again to you all for the great advice.
Much appreciated

A man being a "little' wrong?

That's the basis of a good marriage.

I got mine from NAPA in five hours. But that's cause I live near Atlanta, these NAPA stores get daily deliveries around 11-2pm, if you order by 8am, it's here same day.

ALmost makes up for the TRAFFIC here......
