Default Oil change extractor

Has anyone tried a fluid extractor to change their own oil?
What's a good one? How well do they work?
I'm trying to save money on oil changes.
Thanks

Yes, I have the Mityvac 7300 ( compressed air operated ).
I have changed oil 3 times with it and the transmission fluid once.
I takes about 10 minutes to pull out all the oil, if it's cold.
If warm, about 5 minutes.

It is $98 on Amazon, slightly cheaper elsewhere.

Beats the heck out of jacking up the car and removing the belly pan

Mityvac 7201 - pump handle operated.
Still about $99, with the added benefit that it will dispense fluids as well as suck them.
Also has enough capacity for our 8 1/2 quarts of oil.

I use the Air Power America 5060 Topsider Multi-Purpose Fluid Removing System. Holds 8 quarts. About $50 on Amazon. Is hand pump operated. Takes 5-10 minutes to extract the oil. Very happy with it.

Thanks
I purchased the MityVac hand operated system. $99.95 Works great. Warm up the engine good and the oil will flow out very quickly. Plenty of room for the oil in the XF. When you are through there is a valve that you can switch and you will be able to empty the MityVac into a container for disposal. PIECE of CAKE. MityVac 7201

You can buy electric oil extractors (battery powered) from wish.com for about $25. They're a bit slow but it will do the job.

I use Gravity, my old friend. My car has no belly pan and I have a 2 1/2 gallon pan that fits under the car - so I dont' even jack the car up.

I'll make the video when I change it next, sometime next year as I changed it two weeks ago and only change it about every nine months (at around 5500 miles).

I'm having trouble here in Winnipeg finding Mobil 5-40 Syn oil . Mobil distributer here tells me it has been replaced by ESP M1 X0w30. Is this true or just BS?

Easy solution is to use Mobil 0W-40, better in the cold weather even if you are just starting it sometimes to get the battery a little charge.
Canadian Tire carries it and has it on sale quite often around here.

This is the same one I use, I have used it on my truck also. Works good, no complaints.

Just a couple of questions.
1, AA or AAA?
2, Did it come with batteries?

Just kidding, I think.

I've used one for years. I love it. It holds almost 2 full oil changes from an XFire. Was about $100. Hand pump, takes between 5-10 minutes. Very quick if the oil is hot. Also, very easy to then just take the recepticle to an autostore and dump the oil for recycling. Clean, not need for jacking the car, removing the cover under the car or messing with an oil pan. To me, it's the only way I will change the oil in this car.

Here it is: Yamaha HT Moto Fluid 15 Liter Oil Extractor ATV PWC UTV SBT-15LEX-TR-10

OK!. One thing missing though what model are you talking about? Almost doing two changes is not much benefit really.
My one does one change and a bit more (ten liters) and as it does not pump out that is heavy enough to tip. Suck it out when it is warm, not hot as that will warp the plastic.

I use the small electric one in the above picture. I use a 5 gallon bucket to catch the old oil and the pump runs off the car battery. I can't get any easier.

I'll see if I can find the model and post later.

Almost 2 oil changes is just to provide a litmus on volume. I use it for other cars / equipment as well so it's helpful to have a larger capacity in my case. I only need it for 1 oil change a year for the crossfire because I only put about 3 to 4 k miles a year on mine. I can go full hot on my oil because my extractor has a metal flex tube so no worries on warping plastic tubing and my container is very heavy / thick plastic so it's not a concern either. It's pretty tall and on a good platform so tipping isn't an issue and even if it did it's a contained unit so no spillage from it either.

That is a NICE unit for the price, I probably would have gone that route had I known.
I bought a MitiVac for the same price, but it doesn't hold as much.

I've got the smaller version, which is around $50. Works good for times I use it. But I don't change the oil on my Crossfire via extraction. I still put the car up on ramps and drain the oil from underneath. Gravity Sucks!!!
