O2 Sensor Questions
I'm a little bit confused about O2 sensors. Is this info correct?
Bank 1 Sensor 1 (Pre-Cat) Left Side Facing Front of Engine (Bosch 16167) (Passenger Side)
Bank 1 Sensor 2 (Post-Cat) Left Side Facing Front of Engine (Bosch 16276) (Passenger Side)
Bank 2 Sensor 1 (Pre-Cat) Right Side Facing Front of Engine (Bosch 16167) (Drivers Side)
Bank 2 Sensor 2 (Post Cat) Right Side Facing Front of Engine (Bosch 16123) (Drivers Side)
Also when you order an O2 sensor from Aautozone for instance: A Bosch 16123 is described as" Left Downstream." Is the right side indicative of the passenger side?

"Upstream" and "Downstream" are stupid designations, if you ask me, but no one has asked me. IT is my understanding that the "upstreams" are the ones in the engine compartment, that is, before the CATS and "downstream" refers to the post-cat sensors under the car.

I don't buy from Auto-zone unless I absolutely have to. I purchased my Bosch 16123 and Bosch 16167 O2 sensors elsewhere for approx $61.00.
It is my understanding that the Crossfire uses (2) Bosh 16167 Upstream - (pre-cat, drivers side and passenger side).
I believe there are (2) other Bosh sensors:
(1) Bosch 16276 described as Right Downstream
(1) Bosch 16123 described as Left Downstream
Does the designation" Right Downstream" mean the passenger side or does it refer to the right side of the engine as you face it with the hood up?
It would be clearer if I had the following info to provide to a local mechanic if I were to provide him with the o2 sensors, so there would be no mix ups :

Think of yourself sitting in the drivers seat of your crossfire. The RIGHT side of the car is the passenger side; the LEFT side is the drivers side. I believe all cars are the same as to right and left.
The O2 sensor "BANK" is numbered as to the location of the #1 cylinder; Bank number 1 is the same side of the engine as is the number 1 cylinder, which on the Crossfire is the right (passenger) side of the car. O2 sensor bank number 2 is the other side of the engine. On the Crossfire it is the left (drivers) side of the car and the engine has cylinders #4, 5 & 6.
Some engines would have number 1 cylinder on the left side and thus O2 sensor bank 1 would be on the left side of the car, but not the Crossfire. "Bank" 1 is on the right (passenger) side of the Crossfire. THUS; "Right Downstream" means the right (passenger) side of the car. The right side of the engine and the right side of the car are one in the same. It has nothing to do with the hood up looking at the engine. I think that answers your question.

Thanks to everyone for the great info. I actually caught the mechanic installing the O2 sensors on the right side of the vehicle rather than the left, after informing him I had replacements for the left side. I noticed this when he pointed out an oil leak. If he had not called me out to the garage, I would have never known he installed them on the wrong side. Seems that even the mechanics get confused when it comes to O2 sensors! When I questioned him, he said he installed them on his left as he faced the engine.

O2 Sensor Questions
Contemplating an eventual O2 sensor replacement, I looked up some part numbers. This is what I've found.
Denso lists different part numbers for the up- and downstream O2 sensors. Both downstream sensors have the same part number, as do both upstream sensors.
NTK lists one part number for all four O2 sensors.
Bosch lists the same part number for both upstream sensors, but different part numbers for the left and right downstream sensors. However, according to the photos, the downstream sensors have different wire lengths which may account for the different part numbers.
Dealer prices for OEM sensors are ridiculously high so aren't even considered.
I'm partial to NTK and have had good look with them in the past. I had a problem with a Bosch sensor. so I tend to avoid them. I know it's anecdotal, but we all go by our experience.

I just checked the Needswings web site and Rob sells one for before the Cats and a different one for after. I recently purchased the "after the cats" and they fit on both sides just fine. No more engine light.

Our North American cars are Left Hand Drive, so it should not be too hard to figure out which is the left side of the car.
UK cars are Right Hand Drive so which is the left side of their cars?
It is not rocket science, if a mechanic cannot figure it out there is something wrong.

Just making sure, you're confirming the bosch 16276 will work just the same as the bosch 16123? Because the price difference is huge between the two. I would just like to know because I am in need of a new bosch 16123 but am considering on getting the 16276 instead.

I got the Bosch 16276 for $22 on Amazon $30 shipped *last one too! But i'm just hoping that it would be a good replacement for the 16123 :S

This editor has a mind of its own, just took off without me. Looking at the Bosch site, upstream is 16167 and downstream is 16276 and 16123. Only difference I can see is that the 123 has a 10" wire, 167 has a 18" wire, and the 276 13" so should be able to use a 167 in any position. Looks like all have the same plug and heated sensor, can anyone verify ?

In fact if up to cutting, splicing, and using the original connector, the 15733 with 24" wire should fit anywhere.

Sorry some of my info repeats previous persons post, it wasn't showing in the thread when I was answering it, I had an older copy of the thread on my screen....
I checked the Bosch web site.

Entering my Crossfire, it was showing the 16123 and 16276 as the downstream (or post-convertor) sensors.
The upstream are 16167 and 15733.
I wouldn't swap the upstream and downstream as being interchangeable, but that's just my guess. I would guess that they might somehow operate differently, but left and right would logically seem to be functionally interchangeable.
Reading all the comments in the thread, it does seem to look like for the issue of left or right side for the same sensor, it might just be the length of the cable is the real difference for left and right.
That theory would also support the NeedsWings site only showing two sensors, not 4 different ones, and their numbers match the Bosch ones, meaning upstream ones work on either side, and downstream ones work on either side. And they have the one with the longer cable for the downstream, which would make sense that a longer cable would also work in place of the shorter cable, as long as it's not hanging down.
The Bosch site says the 16123 has a "length" of 10.2, and 16276 is 13.4, and NeedsWings sells the longer one.
Oddly enough, I just replaced my crankshaft position sensor successfully, because of a check engine code for it. A few days later the check engine came back on saying the downstream drivers' O2 sensor indicated too lean. I don't think I bumped the cable, but it seems odd that the two things happened right after one another.
So I'll be checking my cable, then doing mine in the next week or so also.
