If you read the full description it says material "Filter Paper" and no brand name. I would be cautious.

Well it comes from China so probably a knockoff. For U$6 when I change the oil, I'd rather have the real MANN filter (buy several & are cheaper)..

Just bought a Mann fleece from parts house and opened the box and it looked like corrugated paper. So I asked the gal to pull up the description and the verbage read fleece which alleviated my fears somewhat, but I haven't noticed a problem with the -el cheapo- Mobil1 paper filters. I change them religiously so there shouldnt be a problem whether fleece or paper.

The fleece filters are to be used on the extended oil changes, the paper filters are not to be relied on for that length of time.
If they say it’s fleece and you get paper that is misrepresentation.

Left: Fleece, Right: Cheap Crap that collapses under the over 90 pounds of pressure with cold engine.

These two are re-boxed Mann Fleece filters:

Will someone verify this dentification? The parts man at O'Reilly told me the opposite.

EBAY allows anyone to make anything described in anyway they want pictured anyhow to sell things. Check the MANN website and buy from a reputable seller.

Yes, I wonder if the label is reversed. Here's another set of photos and you can see the ID on the top. Also, here's an UGLY photo of what a bad filter looks like.

The original 2004 models listed the paper filter, it was not meant for use for 7,000 miles. When they went to the extended mileage of 7,000 miles on the oil the specification for the filter changed to the so called fleece filter. A good paper filter is fine but not for 7,000 miles. Cheap paper filters are crap and it is little to do with oil pressure.

I would not put at risk an engine that would cost you thousands of dollars to replace on an oil filter whose quality is unknown in order to save a few bucks. That would be a false economy.
