Magnaflow Or Flowmaster???
Guys. I haven't replaced my muffler, exhaust, etc at all and at about 18,000 miles began to notice a change in the note...very nice and deeper than originally. I'd wait to see what happens if you have less than 20,000 on your Crossfire.

Anyone interested in a cheap alternative, to the high priced Borla, exhaust system that is a quick and easy bolt on? Like most X-fire owners, I was a little frustrated that no one makes an affordable quality built and sounding exhaust system. The cheapest built, that I know of is Borla for around $600. I built a quick and easy clamp on that uses the factory hangers and/or bolts to existing chassis bolts. I used mandrel bent 2 1/4 tubing (factory diameter) and a polished stainless steel ARC performance muffler. It has the same look as the Borla and sounds awesome. Not too loud, but definitely not quiet. I am looking to see how many people would be interested in it and I will put together some kits, with everything you need to install it, plus instructions. Let me know if you are interested and I can also send pictures. I plan on selling the kit for $275. It looks like a factory set up. I plan on going to the drags to do a run before and after the system is installed to get the gain in the 1/4 and approximate the hp gain.
I've got Borla installed on my Xfire and in my honest opinion, its the only quality way to go. Install this exhaust and some drop in air filters, and you get a relatively large hp increase. It sounds very refined, yet aggressive. I am very pleased with my purchase, especially because it is such a quality exhaust system. From the second you open the box you just know its quality. The dual oval also looks great on the car, really compliments the body style. Don't be fooled by the pic on Borla's website, it looks great.
I am new to this site I have been reading up on what people have done to their exhaust for the last couple of days.
I recently installed a 40 series flow master exhaust and a resonator to go with it I have notice an increase in the torque thru 1st 2nd and 3rd gear the draw back is that its to load inside the cabin even with the resonator.
I'm thinking bout going with the Borla but i just spent $ money on this one does any one know what I can do to quite the beast. Is there anything out there which can wrap around the exhaust and quit it or deflect the sound away from the cabin?
Thanks.

What you hear is noise coming out the back of the muffler... Imagine sitting behind it in another car and hearing that.
Insulating your own car would be way too difficult as it all boils down to reducing the volume of noise from the muffler exit.
The borla system works perfectly at reducing that 2000 RPM drone in top gears, It uses 2 full size free flowing mufflers...
I would install a larger resonator, or even a 2 chamber resonator (muffler).
good luck.

if you ever want to go back to a complete factory/stock one piece system... or an extra oem for time of resale if one doesn't like the cut up aftermarket system... real cheap at $42.99 (complete).
