Default Automatic Engine in Manual Car

I was offered a replacement 3.2L engine with only 49K miles to replace my 132K worn out engine. The engine came out of an automatic donor but mine is a manual. Will this engine work if I transfer the flywheel and clutch assy of my current unit to the automatic unit? I imagine it would but wanted to ask the experts opinion.

I would think it would. THere is no difference between the two that I can think of. The ECM and TCM are what is different between 'auto' and 'manual', I do not think there is any difference on the engine itself.

It will be interesting to see what Josh or Rudy says, if they see this thread.
