Delayed Shifting from stop position
I have a 2005 NA coupe automatic with 86K miles and for the past year the transmission shifts differently at times. From at a stop light or just starting out, the engine revs high before shifting into 2nd gear. Now 2nd to 3rd and to 4th are perfectly fine, just from 1st to 2nd. Then there are times when the car acts normal and shifts fine between those gears without high revving. Has anyone has this issue before and what was the fix? Is it the conductor plate or transmission filter clogged? Fluid is at correct level and not see any leaks from the connector area. I have not experienced the infamous Limp Mode yet. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
not sure but may be low on transmission fluid,,, in the meantime set the transmission in winter mode the switch next the shifter with S & W on it the w will set the tranny to start off in 2 gear . the w = snow and or sand and will not hurt the transmission or the car. do this until u can find the problem or get the fluid checked
I checked the fluid this past fall and it was still full last week. Weird thing is it will run like a mad man at times just like it was an SRT car. Wondering if it has something to do with the conductor plate or just need new fluid/filter.
on a N/A not worth it. that is my opinion others may say do it.

IF the transmission has the correct level (based on the fluid temperature) and sometimes works right other times not, I would think you MIGHT need to have the filter changed with adding the amount of new fluid matching what you removed. IF that doesn't fix this intermittent shifting, I would think the conductor plate replacement. IF your good with tools and can access the bottom of the transmission, you can do it DIY. There is a .pdf here in the document collection to assist you. U tube has vids also. Before you do the filter/new fluid or conductor plate, do a lot of reading/vid watching. Good luck!

Thanks Graphic Ghost on the suggestions. That is what I think it might be. Went to store today and it was revving high into 2nd gear at every stop. Then when I got done with the store, the car drove like a rocket. Shifting was fast and smooth, wonder if the speed sensors in the conductor plate are not holding contact. Might also be original fluid/filter. Purchased car with 71K miles on it.
sorry but that is not true it is easier to convert a v8 into a limited,, and you save about $2000. because of rear end drive shaft and tcu. cost into a limited runs +or- $20,000 into a srt $22,000. + or - the +- is cost of engine .
