Default Just want opinions, why because you are the real deal...

Car goes into Limp mode,Check Enging Light, blah blah.. do the Forum research.. care gets out of limp mode (I did forget to get codes from the car and my garage is limited in space atm so I tried ANOTHER SHOP)

Most likely at 80k miles needs Trans filter and fluid change. Possible a plate as well. Most all this total parts $500 ish at Needswings..

So shop quotes me $2500
1. Love how they cut off this image... and it looks like they are quoting a "Throttlebody"
2. Citing. Speed sensor CODES 715 (we can find that one) a Code 148 and 2203.. (which I can't find anywhere on this forum or the codes lists for the car. Then tells me some N3 sensor needs replacement on the Valve body and the Trans Input speed sensor.. but the valve body is special and once you remove it it needs to be replaced.. and its "coded to the VIN" so only a limited amount in the country.. (Forgot to mention Ted seems to keep refering to this car as a BMW....../facepalm)

I know... I know.... just someone tell me WHY??? Shops think this is okay to do... I am just looking for confirmation before I go down there and simply say gimme my Keys... and PRAY I do not give you all a horrendus review for LYING to your customers.

So just to confirm next step is get car,, order NEeedswings transmission items.. do job self once more.. and decide if i have time to do an online review Yes?

Cost of labor seems awfully low for what they are describing - and cost of part seems awfully high, not to mention the odd description of said part.

@pizzaguy but I have never heard of a transmission that MUST be coded to the VIN... this is what scares the crap out of me lol

Nope, you can swap both TCM and entire 722.6 and the car won't complain.
