Default transmission problems?

after installing a line out converter in order to run an after market subwoofer and amplifier from the speaker wire on the factory amp, my car will not shift at all, keep in mind it is automatic but seems like it will not get out of first gear, it just goes straight to redline.. and when i put it from park to drive or any change like park to neutral reverse to drive, it bucks really hard.. i scanned my car since check engine light was on and i got P0715 imput turbine speed sensor and P0702 transmission control system electrical... we have since put all wires back to original and scratched the subs for now. but still no improvement... can anyone pleaasssee help, hope it not too expensive just paid for another semester at school...

thanks,

Jason

You most likely need a new conductor plate in the transmission. It's the part that connects all the solenoids in the transmission to the connector(above the valve body). There are two speed sensors on it and one of them is bad. This puts the transmission into limp mode. You will also need to have the code cleared @ a dealership, generics won't remove the code. You can probably do it yourself for around $200 plus whatever it cost to have the code removed.
The mercedes forums have detailed info on replacement of the conductor plate.

thnak you chucknorris, where are the valve bodies on the xfire? i know that it is the input speed sensor, and is there any way to get the car outta limp mode? or does the problem just have to be fixed?

You have to drain the fluid, drop the pan, remove the electrical connector, and remove the valve body. The conductor plate is on top of the valve body. If you are not a seasoned mechanic you should take it and have it done by someone who will give a warranty. The car won't come out of limp mode until you fix the problem and have the code cleared.

Nope, the conductor plate is above the valve body , and the speed sensor is part of the conductor plate.

As mentioned the sensor is part of the plate.
This is a great price for one.

LINKY

The job isn't for the simple mechanic.

Another thing to consider since you were playin' with electrics is perhaps the TCM Transmission Control Module have have gotten jacked.
Easiest thing to do to check this is have a fellow member allow you to put your suspect TCM in his car and see if his car now is in limp mode. I wouldn't recommend putting his in your car to test if your car goes out of limp mode for fear of jacking his TCM.

Any volunteers in the New Jersey area!?

Have you checked for fault codes yet?

finally the car is diagnosed after a few hours at my local benz/audi shop with my client who works there.. turns out that the problem is thar the TCM (transmission control module) is bad, Tighed1 that price you found on the conductor plate was excellent compared to the dealers $400 they wanted and the TCM surely has an easier installation, any way you can find me a TCM since im not sure if its the same for the crossfire and benz... i greastly appreciate everyones help, this forum and everyone on it has become my hero!

When the dealer replaced my TCM it was listed at $1200. I tried a NA Crossfire TCM and it didn't work in the SRT. Sold that one for $100.

Part number for SRT was A0335451232.

A breeze to replace. Located under where the passenger's feet rest, under the carpet.

tighed1, maybe you want to edit your post to read TCM not RCM.
Found this when browsing for conductor plate number.
