Just inherited my brothers 2005 crossfire from his estate. The doors are locked but the hatch is open. I need to get the car in neutral to roll onto a trailer to haul it to a dealer. Is there a way to unlock the shifter to get it into neutral?
Sorry to say but dealers know nothing about these cars. If the hatch is open have someone crawl inside and unlock the doors. Contact the mercedesswapshop to find out what needs to be done to get a new key.
Unless you are taking the car to a dealer to get it washed and waxed, you are making an expensive mistake.
One of the things I tell people who are considering buying a Crossfire is this: "If you take your car to a dealer for every little thing (or even major things), DO NOT buy a Crossfire"
I don't say that sarcastically. I say it because, after 12 years here, I am tired of people paying $680 for a key, or $1200 for a lock cylinder, or $180 for an oil change or $2300 for a new convertible top.

As with (I think) all cars with automatic transmissions, yes, there is a trick.
You slide the special tool (or a slim flatblade screwdriver) into the little slot in the shifter cavity, this will unlock the lever and let you move from "Park".
You can then take it to a dealer where they wont fix it, won't get it running but will charge you out the ***.

Mercedes Swap Shop or Needswings can sort you out on a key. To move the car, there is a little spring loaded "trap door" at the shifter. Push a long bladed, regular flat blade screw driver down there, and with a little fiddling while pushing it, you should be able to get the shifter out of park.
I just now saw you are in Russelville, I"m up near Fayetteville. We have a considerable group of owners up here - once you get the car running, keep in mind we have tech days and the BIG meet in Eureka Springs in June.
