Default Transmission fluid type?????

Could anybody give me a straight answer as to what transmission fluid to put in an automatic 2005 roadster? I understand that the manual says to use fluid approved to MB 236.10 or MB 236.12. I look up this type of fluid and it gives me a whole kit that does not say the MB approval but its for mercedes engines and it says 722.9 ATF 134 FE. So I look up the transmission code whatever that means for the crossfire and it says 722.6. Are these not compatible? I have a basic understanding about cars but don’t know **** about transmissions / transmission fluids and don’t want to put the wrong type in.

This is the kit that comes up everytime I search. Will this work or not? Thanks for any help.

I used this one. That kit you selected has extra stuff not needed.

Be sure to get the trans dipstick if you dont have one already as well. https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/mer...e-140589152100

I usually just go with the Pentosin. Buying it from Rockauto makes it fairly reasonable in cost, even with shipping. If I want a larger quantity, I'll buy the LiquidMoly.

I saw the kit you linked when I was doing my own searching as well. I am doing a full flush including the torque converter and from what I have read throughout this forum is that I will need 8.5 quarts for a TC flush. What is not needed in the kit? Could I just order the fluid and the filter and be fine? Thanks.

The one you posted had bolts that aren't not needed and that green piece is not needed. I didnt know you were doing a full flush so in that case yeah you will need 2 jugs of trans fluid. You can just older the filter and fluid but I recommend you get a new trans connector and replace that while your down there. https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/mer...tor-2035400053

They are known to leak and can destroy your TCU, so you might as well replace it while your down there.

I got my dipstick from China on eBay for less than $10 with free shipping. You cannot tell the difference in the photos.
The markings for the oil depth are as shown in an old thread by Waldig which used two large zip ties zipped together and marked with the depths.
