Default Exhaust size

I bought a XF a few months ago and want to put a cutout on it. Does anyone have any tips or know which one I should get?

I have an electric cutout on my car but I had an exhaust shop do it like 8 years ago so I don’t remember much about how it was done.

i know this isn’t super helpful but it can be done and it wasn’t difficult

.

Why a cutout? You do know when a cutout is used for an extended period of time, it can ruin a motor. Backpressure is necessary for a balanced engine. No back pressure is a no-no. Good luck!

For sound and power..? It’s the same as putting headers on a car and that doesn’t ruin an engine because there’s lower back pressure. I’ve literally never heard that having a cutout was bad for an engine and many modern sports cars have them as well

Might help to check this out:

Modern sports cars that have these designed into them take this balance into consideration. Have fun and good luck.
