Engine, Exhaust, Transmission and DifferentialPost questions here that have to do with the engine, cooling system, air intake, exhaust, Transmission and Differential
Still going through my lower mileage (76K) 2004 Crossfire I picked up this winter. The prior owner changed the transmission fluid and the filter but did not change the Transmission Electrical Connector. Looks to be slightly leaking. Can I change out that connector without having to drain the fluid?
Can I change out that connector without having to drain the fluid?
Yes, I just replaced that connector many times with my recent unrelated to the connector transmission issue.
Short procedure:
1) remove the shield
2) twist the lock to unlock the connector.
3) use a socket to loosen the bolt on the inside
4) pull out the connector.
5) use a good connector and make sure all the molding is clean and no left over plastic (buy one from FCP Euro not amazon)
7) make sure you have two O-rings, and replace. This will take some pressure to push in place, the locking tab must be down
8) tighten internal bolt
9) install connector and lock
10) reinstall heat shield
