Automatic Coupe - No drive just revs
I''ve got a 100k Coupe, no idea on it's history.
I was driving along and pulled up to some traffic, I stopped for a few seconds but when I went to pull away, the car just revved when I depressed the throttle. I turned the car off for about a minute, when I fired it back up, I had drive again but only for about 10 seconds. This happened 2 or 3 times until I gave up and got rescued.
I asked in the groups on Facebook and based on the codes I was getting in my very cheap code reader (P0715 - Input/Turbine speed sensor A circuit and P0730 - Incorrect gear ratio) I had the conductor plate replaced, along with connector, O rings, pan and new ATF.
After this has been done the car still had no drive, i did the throttle reset based on advice I was given, I've put the code reader back on and now it has no codes. Not sure how much a £20 device off Amazon can be trusted though.
The mechanic who did the work for me said he put the same amount of ATF in as he took out, the car is parked (and undriveable) on a slight incline, I have a dipstick but obviously not getting a clear reading because of the slope (only a few degrees).
Any help appreciated, I bought her, did 250 miles and enjoyed every one of them, polished and made her beautiful but is now just a paperweight! I haven't actually tried to drive it, the mechanic did though, you can hear it go into reverse etc.

Jack the car up "(a few degrees)" and check the fluid level without starting the car. When cold it will be very high above the reading on the dipstick about 80 mm.
Pull the carpet up from under the drivers feet in your car [here in the States it would be the passenger side] so I'm guessing your driver side, you will find the Transmission Control Model (TCM). look carefully and see if there ever has been any water in that area. Also be sure there is no oil wicked up thru the wires to the TCU.
If the mechanic erased the codes he has a code reader that may help you solve this problem. Try scanning as a 2004 Mercedes SLK 320.

Thank you for the response. I should have added that the mechanic couldn't get his code reader to talk to the car, even when trying to connect as a Mercedes, so not sure how the codes have gone.
I'll roll it off my drive to check the ATF on the level and see if I can get under the carpet. Thanks again.

it a srt6 or limited,, all TCU"s interchange but only limited to limited or srt6 to srt6 in case u need one from junk yard.
also have u disconnected the battery for about 1 min, and pump the brake peddle to discharge the system. then reconnect the batt.
the computer the mechanic has has to ask for a 2002 slk 32 (if your car is a srt6 or a c320 / slk320 for the limited.

Thank you for the response, no it is a standard Coupe not an SRT.
I haven't tried what you have suggested, what does that do please? Reset?
The mechanic tried different Mercedes SLK 320 models but no luck. He also tried the VIN but was questioning if his code reader (linked to his phone was even working)

It is a standard Coupe nCoupn SRT. What does the battery disconnect and brake pump do?
The mechanic tried various Mercedes SLK320 versions, he also tried using the VIN. He was questioning if his code reader linked to his phone was even working.
Not sure where the response I typed has gone. Thank you for responding.

Disconnecting the batt resets all the computers in the car ,but only after you discharge all the backups,,,by pumping the brake or opening and closing the door 4 or 5 times
