About to buy - what do you think!!!
About to buy - what do you think!!!
I'm about to buy the below car and just wanted your honest feedback:
2003 53 Reg CHRYSLER Crossfire 3.2 V6
3 Doors, Manual 6 speed, Coupe, Petrol, 17,000 miles, Black. 6-speed manual, Alarm,
Electric Seats, One Owner, Power-Assisted Steering, Rear Spoiler, service history, Alloy wheels, Electric mirrors, Electric windows, Leather seats, Air-Conditioning, CD radio, ABS, Traction control. AA WARRANTY INCLUDED £12,995.
Now for a 53 plate which has only done 17k miles and selling for just under 13k sounds pretty good, what do you guys think?

No such thing as 2003. Some 2004 models were built in 2003, like mine. But none were marketed as 2003. So i'm going to assume its a 2004 mis-labeled. Not sure what they are going for in the UK. But i think that comes out to almost 25k USD. That's way over priced for a 2004. You can get a SRT-6 for that. Again not sure how the market is there. But you can get a 2004 with very low miles (under 10k) for about the same prices that others are listed. Because the prices dropped so much. More dealers sell for way less then Kelly Blue Book or anything. So some drop a 5k miles are to the same price as others drop a 20k mile car. I'd say unless its a steal, buy one with fewer miles for the same price.

Our american brothers will not know that a 53 plate continued up to April 2004!

You can get a brand new manual for £16,000.

Mmmm.
After having a quick look myself they do seem to have gone up in price again.
There were a few dealers on E-Bay who had them for £16,000.
None left although you can still get a as new SRT6 for £22,000.
It could be the time of year has pushed prices up.
I still think you could get one cheaper as I bet someone wont get much for a trade in.
You could also try the Chrysler website.
I suppose at the end of the day It's all to do with condition.
There are a lot available so take your time and get a good one.
If it need new tyres your looking at around £800 for a set of four.
I would also try and buy one that is still under manufacturers warranty that way If anything is wrong it will get fixed FOC.

Just go for it...
personally I fell in love with the xfire from day one...decided to wait one year (after all buying brand new car in the uk is just a waste of 5 grand). Waited a year... then became a woman and bought one new ... due to not finding one used in the colour I wanted...call it what you want but it cost 27k... yours is a complete steal...
