Re: Illuminated Sill Plates - How to change the color and install
Sinners,
I don't have a firm price at this point as I'm already doing this for someone else. I would say fair is probably around $100 for my time as it takes at least two hours to do the conversion which includes wiring in the new inverter, etc. Materials such as the EL tape and the sills (if I aquire them for you) would be on top of this $100 charge. Don't forget shipping either.
If this is something you want to do, send me a PM or e-mail.

So I just ordered a set of Illuminated door sills. They haven't come yet. I have no experience whatsoever with electrical wiring. You have posted great how to's. According to the instructions I downloaded for the sills, for the inverter there is 1 red wire, and 2 brown wires. Using your instructions, I take the red and tap into the RED/GREY wire. Now the two brown wires on the inverter, do I tap both of those wires into the one BROWN/YELLOW wire from the harness? I don't have very many tools, to tap into these wires is it alright to use those plastic connectors that use metal teeth that pinch onto the wires? Also, the intructions say to disconnect the negative battery terminal. Is it ok to leave the battery fully connected? You had stated something about not touching one of the wires to anything metal. What happens if it did?
If I do this according to the instructions, how will the sill light behave?
