Default Southhams Lower Grill Help?

Just received the southhams lower grill, but the instructions are somewhat crude? if anyone has installed them that could offer some advice it would be greatly appreciated.

They claim that the bumper has to be removed and wholes drilled in the plastic lower grill to create a location for the zip ties, but wouldn't it be easier to attach 2 zip ties to each of the sides that already have a whole in them and super glue the other side without going through the troubles of removing the bumper and drilling a whole in the plastic grill?

Also it does not seam to be sized to well has anyone else noticed that? or would it make no difference after the install...

I have the same set. There are a little off size but look good when installed. You don't really have to drill any holes but you can get a better look if you do. Use a "u" hook or a screw driver to pull out the stock grilles, They just snap into place. See your owners manual about towing (I think that's where it's at) They pop out really easy, Just pull from the outside of the car.

Cool Re: Southhams Lower Grill Help?

They pop right out using the "multi" tool or small flathead screwdriver. I also purchased the "Southhams Lower Grille" on EBay was not very impressed with it. I actually made arrangements to return it minus shipping, the seller actually is an XFire owner in the UK. I think the CTD-Germany Lower Grille looks better, IMHO.

As I've mentioned in another thread, I have these and am very pleased with the result.

I drilled a couple of small holes at the extreme ends utilizing any existing openings so as to make the fewest holes possible for the zip ties. I found that the insert tended to bow outward at the middle, so I added one extra zip tie near the center.

Being that the inserts are a bit short on the height measurement, I positioned the inserts low on the existing grill leaving more of a gap along the top edge than the bottom. Unless you're really looking hard, you'd never notice the slight gap or the zip ties.

Overall, I think they look great (very 3 dimensional).
