I like it both ways. With the grills matches my front air dam grills. Sweet!

I would be down for the Chrome rear grills but they need to be cleaned up a bit. They just don't look right yet. It would match the chrome mesh grills I plan on putting on the front.

This is an actual photo of the prototype screens in black. Also a good shot of the CF panel in the license plate recess.

SRT,

Great work - looking forward to the updates!

Where is your list price for CF coating? I remember seeing a listing to coat each piece, but can't find it now.

Also, How does the CF coating match the Graphite color? If it is close, it could be a good subtle compliment instead of going strictly mono-tone on the exterior.

Thanks!
SQ

Since all this has been a "non-profit" business for me up to this point, I am taking my time to do this all right. We had another member a while back who made a lot of promises and wound up angering the "mob" here.

I am still offering the CF and wood coating. Cost for forum members is appx .60 cents per sq inch. with no reduction for cut outs. If the part is less than $30 then a minimum of $30 is the price. Depending on the work it could be slightly more or less. We can discuss before you decide.

I have been working with a number of vendors and it looks like I may have some German accessories available at a discount. The most exciting news is that I am negotiating with a fabricator who has been making custom parts for BMW on contract. He wants to join up with us and will finally allow me to fab some of the prototypes (diffusers, screens, grille and more). I am also working with an upholsterer to make parts for the interior (real leather). One of the first items will be a tasteful, functional arm rest for the console cover. At a reasonable cost of course.

We are also negotiating with a "spray on" chrome that looks outstanding and is extremely durable. The will take a sizeable investment up front, but it looks promising.

For thos waiting for my custom badges, they are shipping to me no later than the 8th. Things are really coming together.

Thanks to everyone for their patience. Good things are coming.

Karl

You need to get a Website going to keep track of everything.

Ya think?...LOL.

I am working towards that end. Actually have the domain and working on putting everything together. I really want to do it right, so it is taking some time.

I wonder how the front grill would look CF coated. Any thoughts?

I have a meeting later this week from a fabricator who claims he can make them for me in aluminum. I will most likely offer them in brushed and painted black. Will keep you posted.

Hello Andrea, can you post your pictures in your user gallery, it seems unable to load on the thread page?
It sounds like a cool idea, using a pigmented plexi, what type of fastener did you use for the plexiglas?

Just did a quick photoshop of my original proto type but instead of 1/4" polycarbonate I simulated 1/2". How does the thicker version strike you?

I have to say, I like the thinner version. Anychance you can knock off the autoxclusive venturi wings? Fully molded carbon fiber baby!

Actually it would be nice if you can form these into inverted airfoils, so as to add a little more downforce to the rear end.

I cannot speak scientifically, but the prototype (thinner one) has been on my car for several months now. I have taken it on sustained high speed runs (40-50) miles several times. They are as tight as when they were installed.

Again not scientific, but seat of pants feels like slightly more grip. The diffuser is actually tilted at about the same angle as the SRT wing. It also is about 12" deep so air flow does go over and under it. I suppose we could use the thinner material with a tapered upswing to the trailing edge. That would definitely produce more down force and give the appearance of being thicker.

I also took a picture of the OEM unit with mine added.

I have used black silicone for fix of the windshields car, very resistant!
