Default diffusers

Cyril Baldwin has sent me his Chrysler diffusers to have the Black CF finish.

I put them on my car temporarily to show how they look plain.

They are going to look HOT with the black CF finish. Cost is $140 per set of two plus S&H.

Along the lines of the diffuser, I had been toying with the idea of offering a set as well because IMO the diffuser cost seems a little pricey. below is a picture of my prototype. It would have to be thicker and deeper. Do you like it as is (or not at all) or should one or two vertical "fins" be added?

A thicker set without vertical fins should run about $200 with a CF finish.

Let me know what you think?

Karl

I like it just the way it is just thicker.

My understanding is that the vertical fins serve a legitimate "venturi-like" purpose, so you might want to consider including them if possible. Thanks.

I kind of like the OE diffusers too. But I like his license plate.

I promise you, it'll look great in black CF!
How much will it cost us for the 2 diffusers?

I talked with a gentleman who will be able to make them. We are trying to determine if they should be polypropylene or aluminum. If there are no vertical fins, I am concerned with the poly... warping. The OEM models are made of this or styrene. Because they are reinforced by the fins and don't act as a wing, there should be no problem with them warping.

My design, we are aiming at a finished price of under $200 (CF finish included).

Now for another "poll". I can get the Chrysler OEM diffusers at a low cost if I buy in qty. There would be additional savings if you wanted them coated with the CF finish. They would come to me with no freight charge. So you would only pay S&H from me ($30 - $35 continental USA) I can sell these for less than $300 if we can get 10 or more people to commit.

Karl: Is that number for the OEM with or without the CF finish? Based on the online price of the OEM diffuser, I assume it is with the CF finish but just wanted to check. Thanks.

That is with the finish...Counting the extra savings on shipping (assuming you would want the CF finish or to get it painted) you could save between $70 - $100.

I am interested in getting a set of OEM. No finish. Could you pm me the exact price or post here.

I like the straight across diffuser (thicker and deeper, like the CTD one) and possibly painted in the silver that is on the trim and side pieces.

Make this a little thicker and you have a winner. I would put it on top of the Mopar diffuser I already have.

If I buy 10 or more I can get them for $168 with no shipping costs. I would have to add a little for my time and effort plus the discount on the CF coating. On top of that take into consideration having to buy it somewhere else, pay a shipping cost to you, then turn around and ship to me to get coated. That is double shipping all by itself (assuming you did want to get it coated, BTW a coated brushed aluminum finish is possible as well.)

I hope to hear from more people if they are interested in this option.

Also if you just want to buy one OEM part and leave it plain or paint yourself, you can try.

I cannot vouch for them as I have not bought anything from them yet. I will say this though, careful what you put in your shopping cart because there appears no way to remove it. After a couple of hours trying to figure this out I called them. They told me they would have to delete my account and I would have to re-enter to clear it! WTF!!!

Not an encouraging sign...

SRT SIX, I would buy the one you designed finished in BC for $200. Let me know if you decide to do that one.
Thanks.

You know SRT I usually love your products, but Ill pass on this I like carbon fiber, but in the inside of the car not the outside... as for the diffuser... The Koengessider diffuser is my favorite by far... you know the one that costs 600+...

Sidez,

I don't expect you to want or even like everything I come up with (even though it would be great if you did). That is what makes people different just like our cars. You have been very supportive and I appreciate that. Can't ask for more.

Thanks.

SRT thanks for the info and link. I decided to buy them direct as I will leave them black or paint SSB.
Thanks again for all the parts you are making available. I love my fender badges.

I would be in for a set of the "horizontal" diffusers you pictured in the original post if you felt they would hold up (is that why you thought "thicker"?) with the black CF.

Keep up the good work! Thanks.

I have been doing a lot of prototype stuff out of inexpensive off the shelf material just to get the look and feel. If I do these, they will definitely be made of a strong durable material. Over the span I want to make sure they will not warp. Startech offered a diffuser like this, but charged a lot more.

There have been a few members that want to combine the design with that of the OEM Chrysler part as well.

I just question the interest by forum members. There have only been a few responses.
