Default Window Tint

RI Law states:

70% visible light transmission on F. Side, B. Side and Rear.

Does this mean only a 30% tint is allowed to let 70% of light through, or do I have it backwards?

a 30% light tint lets through 30% of the light... you have it backwards... when they say that 70% is allowed they mean the 70% tint that lets through 70% of the light...

Plus, remember that all windows have some tint to them. If you put 30% on a regular window it could measure out to dark.

SideZ is right. I got confused. The lower the number, the darker the tint. Anything more than 50% is not worth doing.
