Angry Washer on throttle assembly - are you kidding me!!

I just spent an hour trying to install my SprintBooster. The damn washer under the single 10mm nut is IMPOSSIBLE to remove! As one of my favorite web-journalists likes to say: who designed this crap? Was it designed to be deliberately hard to remove? If so, congrats: it worked!

#$@$!$@@!@###$!!!

Grrr.

You dont need to remove the gas pedal to fit the SBooster, leave it in position. just remove the conector off the top and plug it in and off you go. Good luck

Thanks Steve. I'll give it a try removing the dash panels and reaching around to connect the SB. I was so annoyed before, I thought I had better leave it alone for a while before I break something.

Mine was like that. I swear the dam thing was glued down!! I couldn't get the connector off by doing the panels either. I just had to go back again later with a bent dental pic and pry it up and off.

I had a similar problem with mine...I think the whole job took me about 45 minutes total and of that about 35 were spent getting that washer up. What I did was use a very strong magnet (I could lift a refrerator with this ceramic magnet) on the top side of the 10mm socket, essentially magnetizing the socket. With a bit of jiggling, the washer came up with the socket. If you have access to a magnet, I'd suggest givinbg it a try.

Yup I used the magnet to.
Trying to access it by removing the side panel proved to be just as difficult so I went back to removing the pedal. The key thing here is this....
Before reinstalling the pedal and the washer DRILL THE HOLE ON THE WASHER BIGGER.
Next time if you need to get the pedal off it won't be a problem.
I also keep the socket and ratchet in the back of my car.
If that sprint booster ever fails you won't have any acceleration and if you can't remove it your screwed.

Well, when I get that damn washer out I'm gonna superglue it to the nut. That way I _KNOW_ it will come out!
