Default Reverse Lights not working?

I have a problem with my reverse tail lights. When I put the car in reverse they don't work. I changed the lights out for new ones, still the same problems. I checked the fuses they are ok. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Hope this helps, and I hope you have a 6 speed if this is your problem. Mind you, when they say that it cannot be fixed they are often misrepresenting the truth (lying if you like) and if you know what you are doing sometimes you can fix it yourself.
This is from the Service Manual.

well, if it turns out to be a faulty switch, you could go old school and hard wire in a toggle switch. I wouldn't want to repair the whole assembly unless under warranty
