Default HID Lighting Issue?

I just replaced my low beam headlights with a set of 55watt HID's from dabears2k.com and noticed a dark spot in the projected beam. It is more of a line that starts at the bottom of the projector and makes its way to the middle of the beam. I've made sure that the notch in the bulb is facing down and that there is nothing else in the path of the beam. Has anyone else experienced this issue and is there a fix for it? The only explanation I have for this right know is that the HID bulbs are causing it... (just hope thats not the issue) I need some ideas/help.

I have had the same problem with my drivers side lamp. Going to take the bulb out and clean with alcohol see if it helps.

Yes - it is the bulb.
Unfortunately it is there to stay. It is the shadow of the support that runs the length of the bulb.

Thanks for the input. Is there a bulb that won't do this? If so where would I purchase a pair?

I was able to solve my problem earlier today. I found that our projector lenses actually cut the beam of light in half and just use the lower portion of the beam for our low beams. After figuring that out, I decided to experiment and cut a new tab on the opposite side of the original H7 bulb (the tab is used for fitment into the projector) and sure enough that fixed the problem. I'll post some pictures later for reference. Owe, and thanks for the idea of the support being in the way!

pictures please... although the thought of going back into and fussing with those H7s again doesn't sound pleasant.

Makes sence - will have to look at doing this.
Knew what caused it just never looked at correcting it.
Glad you did.

These attachements show the dead spot in the lights, a fixed comparison and the modified H7 bulb.
