I had the same problem. Take the clip off first so you can get a good grip on the plug and bulb.

It can be a real PITA.
Just keep squeezin' the release clip and keep wiggle'n the connector.

I canget the clip off and the assembly comes out, But I was afraid to remove it with the wires still attached. They don't look like they extend that far. Now what release clip are you referring to? The clip that holds the bulb in?

yeah this is a real b*tch for me, i have been pulling on the black wire connector for the longest time, and it wont come out. all i see is the light reflecting on the wall going all over the place. My problem is weird tho...i can get the light to turn on by pushing on the wire on the back of the bulb, and then when i sit for a while with the lights off....turn em on, i can watch the light go out, is this a loose connection?

James, there is no release clip for the wiring harness.....just the wire clip to hold the bulb in. The easiest way (that I found) is to leave the bulb clipped into the housing, and get a pair of long, needle-nosed pliers and grab the back of the black plastic connector and pull hard. If you start twisting it, all that you are going to do is break the connector. It does come off but takes some muscle.

Thanks Dan
I will give another try today. I just didn't know how hard I had to pull. Nothing like breaking something you were supposed to be fixing!.

I had the same problem and I broke the connector. I went to a Chrysler dealer and they could not find the connector part number. Has anyone purchased a new connector. I NEED to know the part numbers.

If all else fails, you can just clip the wires off and install regular 1/4" spade (female) connectors temporarily. They will fit the bulb perfectly.

I think the connector is part of a far larger wiring harness and will not come alone.

They seem to get stuck over time. Just pull really really really hard.

once you get them off put some dielectric grease on the so it doesnt happen again
